Re: Pathway to ILR

Great, thanks all for the comments all. Understood on the flexibility in working if on the family visa though its unlikely she'd change jobs again before ILR. So ideally a new office would pick up the visa and any associated costs/logistics. We wanted to confirm that if they didnt she'd not be back ...

Re: Pathway to ILR

Wife's Visa History: March 2016 - Jan 2017 (9 months) Tier 2 ICT Feb 2017 - Oct 2020 (2 years 9 months) Tier 2G Dependent Nov 2020 - Current - Skilled worker (it is our understanding that her clock towards ILR is running from Nov 2020, so she would be eligible for ILR on/about Nov 2025) Basically, a...

Pathway to ILR

I have a ILR pathway question for my wife. She is currently on her own Skilled worker visa which will take her well past the min 5 year period on that visa type to apply to ILR (and then citizenship). Before having her own skiller worker Visa she was a dependent on my Tier 2/skilled worker visa for ...

Re: TravelPre/Post Ceremony

No, nothing handed out. Only verbally conveyed. Agreed for citizens of 'visa free' countries (such as USA) not an issue and likely ok. But in a group setting of 40-50 people I see no way they could they confidently make that advise. Still intersting nonetheless.

Re: TravelPre/Post Ceremony

As a note/update I just had my citizenship ceremony (Lambeth Council, London) and at the conclusion of the ceremony the registrar loudly and pointedly noted that 'if you have upcoming/immediate travel to do so and then apply for your UK passport after that travel'. They made no qualifications or exl...

Re: TravelPre/Post Ceremony

I received approval of my application this morning and have three international trips planned between now and Oct 15th. I wanted to confirm that it makes 'more' sense to to the following: Given I have 90 days to schedule the ceremony I schedule the ceremony for the day I return from my last trip and...

TravelPre/Post Ceremony

My job often requires short notice travel (to USA) at client request (I hold a USA passport/citizenship). Looking through other posts on this it would seem the following is (while not encouraged) acceptable and would not hinder either entering the country or finalizing my pathway to citizenship (and...

Lost 'hard copy' referee forms

I've somehow managed to throw out the hard copies of my signed referee forms between scanning them in and my appointment (Monday). I may be able to get the two referee's to re-sign (mainly just due to schedules with tube/train strikes) and re-scan in advance of my biometrics appointment (plan a). Or...

Referees - Same employment

In preparing my application the two referees I plan on nominated work in the same office. Both have known me since moving to the UK and meet all the requirements spelled out in the government guide (as spelled out on pg 26). Both also are members of a professional body (architects, who are ARB regis...

Spouse Skilled Worker to ILR/Citizenship

I currently hold ILR and will be making my citizenship application later this month. My question is about my wife who currently holds a skilled worker visa (has for 3 years) and what happens should she loose her job/visa. When I hold ILR it was clear that she could become my dependent (her clock tow...

Re: ILR BRP lost - fothcoming travel

Thank you for the reply and the information. I'm still holding out hope that all the documents will show by Friday and all this is not required. If not, I have an emergency passport appointment scheduled and I'll get that sorted so I can complete our holiday and business travel and just wait for the...

Re: ILR BRP lost - fothcoming travel

Thanks for the reply. Outside of the 'holiday' planned (which can be moved/dealt with easily) I have a number of upcoming work trips (still several weeks out) that are less flexible. If my documents are not returned I'll need to have an emergency US passport issued for that travel anyways. I assume ...

Re: Applying for Childs Passport

I did some more searching and found this post: https://www.immigrationboards.com/british-citizenship/newborn-british-passport-application-t283283.html basically it would appear the online form is not accurate to those applying via ILR. I'll fill out the form appropriately (enter all information as k...

Re: Sponsor 'License Number not found'

Apologies for not keeping to a single thread so thanks for merging. One follow up on the Sponsor License not found, it would appear the application is termed as 'complete' without entering anything in the space. Is the sponsor license number a required element? I can I simply leave it blank and just...

Sponsor 'License Number not found'

I had the number from when my original CoS/Visa was processed and went to enter that in. However the form spits back a 'number not found'. I'm reaching out to my HR to confirm the number and/or find out why it would have changed. I know the office is still an approved/listed sponsor from the publish...

Re: Life in UK test - Address verification?

Sorry, I re-read your comment and now I'm confused/want to make sure I phrased the question properlly. You are overthinking this. You do not need to explain to UKVI about what they hold on your file. Answer the questions as asked. The gap in the beginning (between visa issue date and first entry) wi...
