Re: Pre Settled to Settled Status

My BRP/C expires in June 2024 and i would be leaving the country on April 5 - no longer resident for tax purposes. Does it mean i should withdraw my settled status application when i leave the country and thereafter use a visa to enter / leave the UK? Does the settled status application imply that o...

Re: Pre Settled to Settled Status

That's concerning - Then how does one prove to airlines etc - i travel from exotic parts of the world to UK and i doubt they would let me board the flight without one?
My BRP expires in Aug 2024 -> what about the intervening period to Dec 2024.

Re: Pre Settled to Settled Status

Once the home office approves pre settled status to settled status - does one need to apply for another BRP with settled status on it or the HO sends it automatically with application approval?

Re: Pre Settled to Settled Status

@ Khanz8211 how long did it take you to get a Decision for switching to settled status Based on his comment c 3 weeks. I applied 1 week prior to 5 years. Settled status granted to wife and kids (EU nationals) in 4 weeks. Mine (non EU) still pending and a bit of a nail biting finish to April 5 deadl...

Re: Pre Settled to Settled Status

Considering it takes some time to process - can we apply for a switch to settled status now (2-3weeks before 5 years are complete) rather than apply after 5 years are complete.
Sorry about the confusion.

Pre Settled to Settled Status

Thanks for the help in advance - Can't believe it' been 5 years to when i was anxiously enquiring about details and dealing with all the ambiguity of the process - amazing community. My wife (EU) has documentation to prove i arrived in UK in FEB 2019 . Considering that it's one month away could i ap...

Settled Status Expiry & Absence period for naturalization

Hi, 1.) In case someone who gains settled status keeps coming back to UK regularly every year (1-2 days as a tourist/for business) - will the settled status ever expire? 2.) Post gaining settled status - how much flexibility is there in the rules governing the absence in last 12 months on the natura...

Re: Gaps in UK stay: Presettled to Settled Status and Citizenship

I had another technical query on dates From pre settled to settled - one can apply on the day one came to UK under the EUSS route - correct? However from settled status to citizenship COE one can only apply after 12 months of settled status grant? I came to UK mid Feb 2019 so i could apply for settl...

Re: Gaps in UK stay: Presettled to Settled Status and Citizenship

However the document seems to suggest that i could manage with 150 odd day absences in each of the next 2 years on an exceptional basis as i am leaving on account of professional reasons. How likely are these exceptions to be considered and any insight into when these are allowed (family would still...

Re: Gaps in UK stay: Presettled to Settled Status and Citizenship

Thank you, That's very helpful. I had 2 medium term objectives and it seems i should not bother about settled status and actually try to maximumize tax efficiency. 1./ Be able to move back to UK at some point in future if needed - i guess with a British spouse that will remain an open option anyway ...

Gaps in UK stay: Presettled to Settled Status and Citizenship

Hi everyone, i (non eu spouse of eu national) came to uk in Feb 2019 and received the BRP in March and the pre settled status in June 2019. Next March i would have completed 4 years and i am in a unique predicament. Context - My job requires me to move to another country. Wife (EU) and kids will sta...

Re: EU settlement - Non EU family member - CoA and decision time

It isn't valid to extrapolate from the EEA FM application timeliness to the new process. The process, the documentary burden and even the casework teams are different. However, the EEA FM timelines can point at the probable worst case delays for the new process. The data you have written down seems...

Re: EU settlement - Non EU family member - CoA and decision time

While the COA for the non EU family members arrive earlier perhaps, I haven't come across anyone issued with a fresh and new BRP as a part of the pre settlement process. It may be premature (opened only 31 March) but some beta phase guys have been waiting a month or so ( and not even sure about it b...

Re: EU settlement - Non EU family member - CoA and decision time

The voting choices are inclusive...so it doesn't help much. Timelines on average have been reducing over last few months on the traditional EEA FM process. Though renewal Vs first time information wasn't disclosed. Compiling those typically COA is received 3-9 days after biometrics. Most being recei...

RC wait - Does asking HO to consider urgently help

Hi, On the forum I have seen typical processing times of 3 - 11 days between receipt of COA and RC. I have a prospective employer who will not consider candidature without the BRP and I am wondering if it's any help to contact the Home Office. Would be over 15 days by end of week. They state that th...

EEA QP Vs Settlement Scheme

It appears that there are no qualifying requirements being posed for getting pre-settled status (worker, student, self employed, self sufficient) or is it the case that if automatic DWP/HMRC checks fail then a qualified status proof is sought. Was wondering if new comers to UK - EU applicants + fami...

Re: Travelling with Settled Status

Makes sense. Is the pre settled status being offered for 5 years/remaining period to allowing 5 years stay or it is also valid only until 31 Dec 2020. Reason for asking is that if it's not until the 5 year period (potential to apply settled status) then it doesn't make much sense for those with BRP ...

EEA (QP + EEA (FM) - Independent ?

The HO encourages joint applications of EEA QP and for family members to be added to the application. However is the EEA FP judged independently. The reason i am asking is that in case the non EU application was delayed due to biometrics etc not being taken in time, does the EU (EEA FP) application ...

Re: Just Arrived on EEA Family Permit - Does my wife need a QP (qualified Person) Card before I apply for my Residency?

Congratulations. 1) Did you receive a letter for BRP saying that it would be delivered in 10 days or the BRP itself on 5 March. 2) For COA was it an email or a mailed letter. Date on COA? 3) The Biometrics letter - was it addressed to Non EU spouse - yourself or to your EU spouse 4) If you don't min...

Re: confused between applying for Residence Card or Pre-Settled status while on EEA Family permit

I have recently moved to the UK on an EEA Family permit which is going to expire on 29/04/2019. Now I am confused between applying for Residence Card or Pre Settled status as the settlement scheme is also fully opening on 30 March. If I get the Residence card it is only going to be valid for less t...

Re: COA with work - Definitive proof of application success?

Very sorry to hear. It's a very Kafkaesque department. A small issue which may not even be your fault may snowball into a disaster.
How did you resolve the situation? After PR they can't keep questioning on qualified status can they?
It's insane. Are you supposed to stop working after RC rejection?

They also arrange phone interviews form what I know. At the time of EEA FP app...
