method of paying Rent- spouse visa app!

Post by syma » Wed Jan 25, 2012 2:09 pm

Hi,

my spouse visa app is underprocess at BHC, we submitted a tenancy agreement which stated that the flat will be rented out from 1st feb 2012 as i'd put down 10th feb as my prospective travel date. now that i havnt had a reply yet but we'll still be renting this place from start of xt month whats the best way to keep a record of the monthly rent payments in case i need to show that in future i.e God forbid if my case goes on appeal.
is direct debt necessary or my husband can pay in cash which the landlord prefers anyway??

Hi syma

Direct debit or bank transfer would be the easiest but other methods are also accepted. If you prefer cash payment, I would suggest that you keep a rent book.

You can buy a rent book from WHSmith if you like - http://www.whsmith.co.uk/CatalogAndSear ... D=90011368#

As long as you have some sort of proof of paying the rent, it should be fine.
