minimum income requirement and savings

Post by shaky13 » Fri Apr 24, 2015 7:21 pm

My sister earns £357.50 per week and that equates to £18590.00 per annum assuming 52 full weeks. That is an exact shortfall of £10.00 for the minimum £18600.00 income requirement.
Can anyone advise will her application to call her husband really fail due to that £10.00 shortfall?

I have looked at the savings calculator and due to this £10.00 shortfall she would need to show savings of £16025.00 is this correct?

Can UKIV really be that strict?
Any advise appreciated

Is this salaried or non salaried employment.

I'm afraid the rules are quite strict, there is no leniency with regards to the rules and the minimum amount is indeed £18,600.

Does she have another job or earning anything else such as overtime, bonus, commission etc. as these can be included.

Otherwise, saving of £16,025 need to be shown held in an account for the minimum of six months.

Hi, I am assuming she is getting salaried as it a fixed 55 hours per week and get paid per hour. she has never done overtime and her wages have not increased or decreased since.

If I am right non salaried is when pay fluctuate weekly?

Then your sister is on a non salaried basis. Both salaried and non salaried pay can fluctuate.

Salaried is where your contract of employment states an annual pay, which seems not to be the case for your sister as she is being paid by the hour, hence non salaried.

The rules are different for salaried and non salaried as I discovered recently.

In your sisters case, the annual figure must be at least £18,600. This is taken by submitting at least six months pay slips and divide the total figure by six then multiply by twelve to work out the annual figure.

Its a shame that the pay falls short by just a tenner.
