Missing dates of departure (10yrs ILR application)

Post by minihaz » Mon Feb 06, 2012 10:43 am

Dear all,

I have been in the UK for over 10 years and I should meet all the requirements for the 10yrs ILR application. However, I struggle to recall the dates that I left UK in 4 occasions in between 2002 and 2003. During that period I had "leave to enter" stamp and that was the reason I did not get any further stamps for going in and out of UK.

Is it ok to tell UKBA that I cannot recall the dates and give them estimated dates? If not, what is the best approach for me to fill in the absence dates in the application?

Many Thanks,

Harry

No. They expect you to identify the details.

Yes! It's alright to give the best estimated dates.

Usually, destination countries register the date you enter and/or leave. Assuming you left the UK for Seychelles, for example, the date you entered or left the Seychelles should be registered (stamped) on your travelling documents. Use these dates to estimate the date you left the UK.

UK immigration control office does not register when you leave the UK but register when you enter the UK. It's hard to imagine for those four occasions they didn't register on your travelling document when you entered.
