MN1 Application for CHild born In the UK

Post by chanpat » Tue Nov 18, 2025 10:10 am

Hi, I have applied for my son's MN1 registration as British Citizen (born in the UK, currently on Skilled worker dependant visa, Father currently on ILR) and provided biometrics on 13th August 25. However, I kept receiving reminder mails from UKVI to attend the biometrics and tried to contact them for clarification. I was told that there is a technical issue in integrating biometrics on home office side and they are tying to rectify the issue but there is no specific timeline when the issue is going to be resolved.

I had sent 2 enquiry mails and response was same in both instances i.e. HO escalated the issue to the technical team but couldn't povide any timeframe for resolving the issue.

My son's visa is valid until 1/1/2026, if I fail to receive decision before then, will he be considered as n overstayer?

Can you please suggest if there is anything that can be done to escalate the isssue?

Thanks

As your son was born in the UK he won't be considered an overstayer, but do secure health insurance for him if you don't get approval before the visa expires. You are still within the standard processing times of 6 months so there is nothing that can be done to escalate at the moment. You can keep highlighting that you receive these emals, but by the sounds of it they are aware and trying to resolve it already.

Thanks. After looking at the forum and seeing similar issues, it seems like it may take a while to get this sorted. I’ll wait for the standard processing time, and if nothing changes, I’ll look into options to escalate

Do secure health insurance if it extends into late December.

Without any prior approval email from HO, all of a sudden I have received my son’s registration certificate today. Thanks for your earlier responses

Congratulations, now all that is left to do is to secure a British passport.
