MN1 Form Queries

Post by rs101 » Wed Jul 06, 2022 2:00 pm

Not sure if this question has been addressed. My case is a bit specific:

My son was born in October 2021. I (father) received my ILR in May 2022, after my son was born

I understand that my 8-month-old son is eligible for British Citizenship (as I have gt ILR), and we are requesting referrals:

One of the referees is a British Passport holder (we have known him for 3 years, and he knows my son for the past 8 months - since the time he was born) - so that is sorted hopefully!

The second referral is a challenge: We are considering the 2nd referee to be our midwife/ health worker during pregnancy - we have known her for ~1 year only, but she told us we must know her for 2 years for her to sign. Is this applicable for a baby too?

What I wanted to check is if these two referrals work in terms of profile and duration? If the second referee does not, what is recommended referee regarding citizenship/ passport application for the infant, with the parent having received an ILR after the birth? Can some other referral also work?

Any inputs or direction to a source with help will be appreciated. Thanks.
