MN1 Registration for Non UK Born Child

Hi,

I need your guidance for my child who born outside UK whether I can apply MN1 registration directly or only after ILR.

I came to UK in Jan 2011 with Tier 2 ICT Visa. After 10 years stay in UK, applied for ILR in Dec 2020 and received the ILR in Apri 2021. In Aug 2025, I have applied for Naruralisation and received the british citizenship in Dec 2025 (Applied for passport and awaiting for the same).

My spouse initially came to UK in April 2015 and returned in Nov 2015. My child born outside UK in Mar 2016 and came to UK in April 2017 as Tier 2 Dependent Child with my spouse. After my ILR, I have applied for FLRM in April 2021 for both of them and received the approval in May 2021. Same has been extended and now it is eligible until May 2026. Since 2017, both of them are continously staying in UK.

As I have received the citizenship (My spouse expected to receive ILR in May 2026), Can I apply for MN1 registration for my child directly or need to wait for ILR & then apply for MN1 registration. Both your child and spouse need to secure ILR before child can apply for registration, as your child was born abroad and lived here for less than 10 years.

Also after obtaining ILR for my spouse, can I immediately apply for Naturalisation for my spouse or do i need to wait for 1 year period to complete. Spouse can apply straight after obtaining ILR, as can child.
