Mom of eea family member under 15

Post by JennyN » Sun Jun 02, 2019 1:32 am

Hello everyone,

I'm Jenny, 14 years old, non eea. I have a residence card as my grandpa (father from my dad) is German who's living in UK. Can you please tell me if my mom/ and my dad (both non eea) can join me in UK? I'm not sure if my dad ready to live with me in UK because he is very busy with his business. However I really miss my mom and I wish I could have her here with me? I hope you can help me somehow, please.

Many thanks for your help.

Jenny

As a non-EEA citizen yourself, you can't sponsor your mother.

Your grandfather, the EEA citizen, would need to sponsor his daughter-in-law, as an Extended Family Member i.e. they will have to prove that she is dependent on him financially.

Hi, Simon. Thank you for your reply. My mom and dad are not dependent on my grandpa, rather the other way round. My grandpa is 70 and my parents need to support us (my grandpa and me) as much as they can.

However to be honest, my parents are running their business in my home country so well and they are not going to move in the near future (my dad not at all). I'm really worried when my mom wants (or needs) to see me or my grandpa (when he's not well), she even gets a visa refused because I'm here and people might think "she will not be back" (like I love it too). Last time I was so crazy (sorry I'm teenager) so that my mom had to stay here for nearly six months (visitors visa). That's why she's not able to apply a visa even I'm soooo miss her :(

Please.... can you please tell me if my mom can join me even not depending on my grandpa?

Many thanks

Jenny

You dad can join your grandma as a family member if he is dependent on her. However your mum will only qualify as an extended family member.
