12/15 month problem

Post by hsmp_distressed » Tue Jul 10, 2007 3:52 am

Hello All,
My HSMP application was received by H.O. on July 1. It should have reached them earlier but IndiaPost messed it up by a week. My earnings period was between April 1, 06 -- March 31, 07. That works well since its within the limits of the 12/15 month rule. The problem is that I called up H.O. and they said that they are currently processing applications for June 5. At this rate its going to be early August when my application gets a case-worker. My question to all is that the 12/15 month rule is not holding good in my case if the caseworker starts from Aug and looks beyond by 15 months. How to go about this? Also, is there a H.O. number which can tell me about the decision?

They'll use the date they received it to do any time stamping, so you should be fine. But has your fee been debited yet? It seems like you should be at least that far.

Also, that date they quote on the phone is somewhat vague. When my app was being considered, they were quoting May 24th as the date they were currently working on, but mine was received in early June and was done the day after I called.

I agree with apeterso925. Just ensure that the fee has been debited. Have you got the reference number yet? If not, call them up/ send an email requesting the same.

Hello apeterso925 and push_hsmp,
Thanks so much for helping clear the confusion. My credit card has already been charged. I called up H.O. and they gave me the reference no. and mentioned that my documents now await a caseworker. Currently processing June 5th applications. Hopefully things would be resolved soon.
