Most exceptional compassionate circumstances

Post by RafaelOliveira » Tue Aug 05, 2008 1:47 pm

Dear all,

My family is in a terrible situation and I am praying I might find help here. I'll try to be as brief as I can. Thank you for the attention and support.

We are from Brazil. We're a mother-son-daughter family. My mother and I are residents of the UK. We are trying to get clearance for my sister to join us but she is over 18 and we're stuck in the "most exceptional compassionate circumstances" rule. We've appealed once with no luck.

What is unnerving about all this is that the Home Office includes such a subjective article and deals with it with all objectivity it can squeeze out of its horror lawyers. This is why I think the "most exceptional compassionate circumstances" is a decoy to get money out of you in appealing in hopes they will someday consider the case thinking of family life and how cultures outside the UK value family more than anything else.

I wanted to know if there's anywhere I can find out everything there is to know about this law so we can study the case better. I can't find anything on Google. Perhaps a book or someone I can turn to for advice, paid or not. Our lawyers did not seem very keen and knowledgable and I wish someone could point me somewhere.

Look eagerly forward to hearing from anyone.

Warmest regards,

Rafael (narcosis_manson@hotmail.com)

I am with your lawyers. What is the point of finding the background. You are not going to prove that it is for money making and it isn't going to serve your cause.
You'd be better off looking at your situation. Why are you in the UK but not your sister.
What other routes can your sister try to get into the UK.
Why does she want to come, what did she apply for already.
