Moving to UK and maternity benefits payment

Post by SelectMe » Mon Mar 09, 2015 8:59 pm

Hi
We are married couple, Irish Nationals and I will be taking paid maternity leave soon.
My husband is getting really good job in UK, probably starting in July.
I am just not sure about moving to UK and getting maternity benefits paid to me in UK.
e.q. I start 6 month paid maternity leave in Apr and in June, we move to UK. Will I get remaining months maternity leave while I live in UK.
I understand, I ll be paid maternity leave in my Irish Bank account only and its my business, what to do with that money.
Just wondering, if its perfectly ok to receive maternity benefit while living in UK? Our plan is to come back to Ireland next year or so.
how about child benefit, will my child(to be born) will receive Irish child benefit or UK benefit?
