moving to ireland

heres the situation:
I am moving to Ireland in Nov 05' and will be staying anywhere from 6mnths to a year or longer if I like it. I have a friend from there and she can get me a job at her hotel or a bar. Question is what do I need to do to work over there. Any help is greatly appreciated.
