Multiple entry (family) visitor’s visa re-entry rules

Post by andrew.smith.eam » Mon Oct 17, 2011 11:10 am

Hello All,

My father (Indian national) has a multiple entry (family) visitor’s visa for 2 years and each visit he can stay up to 180 days.

He came here(UK) 3 months ago, last month he went to Europe trip for 2weeks.

Can he stay for another180 days from the day he entered back from Europe trip? How does this rule apply?

Does he get another 180 days, whenever he goes out of the country and comes back in?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Andrew

A visitor should not normally spend more than 6 out of any 12 months in the UK.

So, if he now stays in the UK fro 180 days, then in the 12 months commencing from the date of his first entry (3 months and 2 weeks ago) he will be staying in the UK for approx. 9 months.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!
