multiple work permits? LMO exemption?

I am a US citizen and I have received two separate job offers in Canada that I would like to accept both as part time work.

Is it possible to have two temporary work permits at the same time?

Also, both of these jobs fall under Religious or Charitable work, which I read on the CIC website is exempt from the LMO process. If, however, I am receiving renumeration for the work, does that mean that I do have to receive a positive LMO before I can apply for the work permit? I read on one site that the religious or charitable work LMO exemption was only valid if there was no renumeration for the work being done.
