Name Change on British Passport (From India)

Problem Statement

My son (8 yrs old) and wife (both British passport holders) reside in India whilst I live in UK and visit them every couple of months.

We have decided to make change to our son's name and I wasn't able to get a clear information from gov.uk website on the process to be followed in order to go through this process whilst being in India.

I was hoping that one of you would be kind enough to shed some light on the formalities / documents needed in order to go through the name change process (on british passport) from India?
