Naturalisation-Incorrect application fee taken from my accou

Post by merc » Fri Dec 18, 2009 10:17 pm

Dear Members,

I recently submitted my naturalisation application(AN) under 5yr+1ILR rule.Application was submitted through NCS on 10/12/2009.

The UKBA have taken the payment on 18/12/2009 from my bank account, however the UKBA have only taken application fee of £20 instead of £720 from my bank account. I am not sure whether its an administrative error on UKBA payment system or it is my bank.

Do i need to contact UKBA regarding the payment error ?? Has anyone before has encountered similar situation??

Please advice.

Thanks
Merc

I think that would make the application incomplete.

.... If you do not pay the correct fee your application will be returned to you unprocessed.
Looks like there is some sort of error from UKBA part. If I were you merc, I would contact them straight away and make the full payment. Shutting your mouth up wouldn't serve you well as being a person of good character is one of the requirements.

Thank you for the replies.

I called the UKBA regarding the error the operator said that i have only authorised/entered £20 to be taken from my account, which is incorrect as it was checked many times by myself & the NCS before submision. They said i should recieve a letter in 10 working days asking me to pay the difference.

I called again next day, different operator this time & the lady accepted the error & pointed to be a clerical error & put me through to the accounts department who said they were sorry for the mistake & i paid the difference of £700 over the phone & was given a authorisation code.

I haven't recieved a acknowledgement letter so far, i submitted my application on 10/12/2009.

Will wiat for few more days & call them back.

Thanks
Merc

And you wont get any replies. No matter how many times you ring, if its not been six months since your application, no one would want to talk to you. so take my advice, dont waste money on phone calls.
