Naturalisation Query

Hi!

I have a quick query regarding naturalisation. I am an Indian national but have been an Irish resident for the last 9 years. The first 4 years was under a diplomatic passport when my dad was here. The subsequent years, I had to register as a student at my local GNIB as I started college in Trinity College, Dublin. Can I apply for naturalisation? One of the criteria for naturalisation is that you have to be a resident for 4 years, but this shouldn't include residence as a student. Would this cause a problem?

Any information on this would be much appreciated!

Please write to INIS (they do not answer calls atm) to ask them whether time spent "under a diplomatic passport" actually counts as a "reckonable residence". I have a suspicion that it may not.

Since you are registered as a student, you do not have that.
