Naturalization and marital status

Post by Andréb » Sun Nov 07, 2010 3:15 am

Hi,

I have been a green card holder in the US for over 20 years. I am married, have two kids and a job in the US. My wife and I are considering a divorce. How is that going to affect my naturalization?

Should I get naturalized before divorcing, or does it not matter?

Thank you for any advice you can give me.

André

Hi. Your divorce won't affect your naturalization in the slightest.
