Naturalization (HSMP-4/5 JR) guidelines from 20th May 2009

Post by llNicell » Mon May 04, 2009 3:11 pm

I am due to apply for naturalization in third week of this month & have completed HSMP (5 yrs + 1 yr ILR). I am eagerly waiting for Home office guidelines & new form which are expected to be published on or before 20th May whether or not to pay fee for naturalization application as I had already paid (now so called unlawfully after JR) FLR extension fee from 4 to 5 years or any sort of compensation.

The change is not going to effect you paying for your naturalisation fee so do not bother holding your breathe to see what the new HO guidelines will be. I assure you it is not going to be what you think it should be or hope it will be.
I dont understand how everyone keeps trying to find some kind of benefit from the ruling, the HO is not going to all of sudden realize what a bad person they were and start handing out refunds, get real. Any reimbursement will take time and will be a separate process and has nothing to do with any application fee for current application you are considering.

Why not sufferer HSMPians will be looking for some remedy ? If now ILR is given w.e.f. date of expiry of 4 years ( yes ! we have right for that !) so why not benefits ( where applicable depends on situation ) will be claimed ?

Hopefully your assumption will not get reality , man !

See what next till 20 May. Finger crossed !

There should be a process set up to claim refunds on ILR fees/2nd HSMP extesnsion fees, otherwise HO will be held in contempt of court. It's not about being nice or sudden guilt, it's called a court order.

To the OP, read categories 2 and 3 of this letter-

That is a strong recommendation, not a court order so not following it will not be contempt so do not hold your breathe.
