NCS procedure & appointment

Post by cool mind » Sat Oct 03, 2015 11:23 am

Hi all,
What is the procedure to get appointment for using NCS service and usually how long before the applicant should approach them to arrange appointment for NCS?? And what documents they usually need?
Much appreciation if someone can at least suggest that how long before such appointment should be made??

No one can tell you that as it will depend on the NCS you intend to use on their opening hours, how many appointment slots and how busy they are. You'll have to call them to check on availability. You may however, find the information given by the NCS Manchester helpful.

Bear in mind that fees vary depending on the Council. Documents required will obviously be those listed on the AN application form.

Will the quality of NCS service varies from council to council depending on their fee level? Can an applicant use other UK council different than its local council NCS service? Usually they give back all documents to applicant then is it correct that they even return original BRP card as well to applicant instead insist to send original???

As with any office, some staff are more efficient (by nature) than others, but the service level shouldn't be reduced due to a lower fee. You are free to use any NCS. Your BRP will be copied and returned to you, together with your other documents.

Cool mind, you can use any NCS in the UK. Just look up a few council areas that are convenient to you based on price, convenience and availability. I live in the SOuthwark borough in London, but decided to use Camden borough for NCS because they have weekend availability, and price was £10 more, but its more convenient for me so chose that.

It is your responsibility to read up on document requirements and make sure you have what they want before the NCS appointment. I would suggest even if you think its not required, bring it with you anyway and NCS can decide if it will help with your submission. Nothing worse when the NCS says to you that you are missing XYZ document, and you have to book another NCS appointment at a later time, delaying the process.

Good luck!!

Hey cool mind... good to see you prepping for your naturalisation application. dont sweat it there are appointments available on the day sometimes in London but most councils should lets you book on the day of choice for between 6-8 weeks ahead.

When and where do you plan to apply?
