need advice please

hello everybody
my question is simple AM I IN THE RIGHT SITUATION?IF NOT WHAT NEED TO DO PLEAS?
my story is that i am nom EEU spouse of EUnational (lithuanian national)
i came to ireland nov 2009 and i registrate with the GNIB same like how i have read in the link, they gave me registration card valid for one yeah (stamp4 euFAM ) after one year i went again to the garda to renew my registration card and they give me another year till nov 2011
i heard from som friends that i needed to apply for EU1
IS tha true? how long it takes and will they gonna give me a year same or more

You should apply for EU fam 1 it is valid for 5 years after 6 months of application processing...see link below
