Need Help - emergency defacto visa

Post by Bgirl » Tue Feb 27, 2007 10:52 pm

Hi there,

My situation is this: I have been in Aus since March 6.2006 on a working holiday visa. I met my partner here in April 2006, travelled for 4 months inbetween. I now live with my partner. We have been together 11 months and lived together for7 months of it. We have our own place and share many expenses. The goal is to some how finish the 12 month limit of living together in a defacto relationship to apply for the visa

becuase my visa runs out on Mar 6, 2007
I need to know what I should do out of the following:

A) apply for an extention tourist visa which might result in a "NO FURTHER STAY" making it impossible to then apply for a spouse visa in 3 months time
B) Go over seas then apply for a tourist visa to re-enter aus. which has no garantee that I will be able to return
c) apply for defacto visa anyway and then appeal it if it is denied.

I appreaciate any help that you can provide me with
has any one done this before

thank you
B
