hi everybody
first i want to thanks all the members about thier help for each other,,,thats what let me feel after my registration that i got new femily ,
well,, i am nom EU citizen and my wife is an EU citizen (lithuanian),and i got a registration card (stamp4) for one year from GNIB which they said for me that second time they will stamp for me another year then third time gonna be for 5 years (is that true?),,,thats my story and now i have litel question about it,
+ do i need a visa to cross or travel to uk area for holiday?
+ after how long i will can ask for irish passport (nautralisation)?

Hi There

Please go through my findings

1 - Yes, GNIB would give one year visa and next year you have to
extend again. I'm not very sure about 5 years visa.

2 - You still need a visa to travel to UK or any other country, but you dont
need to pay visa fee, since you are the spouse of EU citizen

3 - If Lithuanian need a visa to USA, then its same for both of you

4 - Irish passport is same again, you have to have 5 reckoning years to
qualify for the IRISH naturalization.

i want to inform you that there is some countries in the europ union i will dont need the visa to visit it like sapin or latvia or italy or france ,,,,,,,because they accept the registration card ,as a visa ,,,,,,,,thx

i dont know about this card because the GNIB did give me one card its name is the registration card but realy that my first time when i heard about what you say because i tought that this card which i have is the residence card ,,,can you please show me or tell me more about it ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,thx

At any point did you make an application to the INIS / Department of Justice?

well ,my wife lives in ballyconnell (co.cavan )and from there i got it after when i went to the garda office 3 days after being here there they stamped in my pass for one yeah and after 10 days they called me to say the the registration card is ready to tek it

Right, just to confirm, in November 2009 you and your Lithuanian spouse went to your local GNIB office in Co Cavan, the Garda placed a stamp in your passport (what stamp?), then 10 days later he called you to come back an receive your Stamp 4 (not Stamp 4 EUFam) GNIB Certificate of Registration card.

well , i am a moroccan citizen and when we went to the garda office they asked us for the english copy of the married certeficat and then the immigration officer stamped in my pass and said to me that after 10 working days will my card ready (registration card) thats it

A GNIB Certificate of Registration takes 10 seconds to print. I don't know what happened in those 10 working days.

In any case, this whole story is most irregular.

You are the family member of an EEA national who has acquired the right of Permanent Residence in Ireland.

You are entitled to receive a "Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen". At present, you don't have one.

You should apply for a "Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen" use form EU1. Your wife can apply at the same time, if she wishes, for a Permanent Residence Certificate using form EU2. Once the former is approved, you will be instructed to report to your nearest GNIB office to receive your "Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen". This is issued in the form of a GNIB Certificate of Registration which bears Stamp number "4 EUFam". With this Residence Card, you are entitled to enter any EU Member State in the company of, or to join your wife, without the need to hold a valid visa or a re-entry visa for Ireland.

yes i know that ,and what i forgot to tell you is that i was in lithuania and i dont need a re-entry visa because this registration card is the re-entry visa and when i reaveled to lithuania i didnt have any problems to travel back to ireland ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,what you think about that

What I think about that is that a GNIB Certificate of Registration endorsed with Stamp 4 is not a "Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen" and so the card, in itself, is not, as you claim, a re-entry visa to Ireland. Holders of a Stamp 4 GNIB Certificate of Registration require a re-entry visa for Ireland if they are a visa-required national.

However, your marriage to an EEA national mean that, if travelling in the company of or to join your wife, you are entitled to enter Ireland if you can proof your relationship and nationality (carry your travel documents / marriage certificate).
