If you are travelling to your home country then you can apply dependant visa for your baby from your home country. Sorry not answering your question but thought I'll mention it.
Thanks!

Well it actually depends on factors like time it takes, convenience, and cost of applying
We applied for our little one's back home because of time factor, we didn't have much time to apply inside UK so didn't have much choice there. But I found out later on that cost of visa was bit less back home then compare to when applying inside UK, it took two weeks and couple of days and since we were closer to UKBA office back home so I didn’t have to travel much for submitting application (I didn't have to take our little one to the visa office either).
If I were you I would find out the procedure and other details of applying visa back home and then take a call.
Thanks!

Yes, if that's what the guidance says. Ask your employer to write a letter for you.
Thanks!

Thanks for your reply,

as per guidance no. 50 says a written understaking from an a-rated sponsor should be ok as below but below no. 52 is going against no.50 can you please let me know if my understanding is correct or i have misunderstood. thanks alot

50. When a family member of a Tier 2 Migrant applies at the same time as the main applicant they are only required to provide evidence that he/ she meets the maintenance requirement when the Tier 2 Migrant is also required to meet the maintenance requirement. When a family member of a Tier 2 Migrant applies separately from the main applicant he/she will always need to have the necessary funds to meet the maintenance requirement or have a written undertaking from an
A-rated Sponsor.

52. If a family member applies separately from the Tier 2 Migrant, there must still be enough funds to support each member of the family. Therefore in the example above, if the family has a third child and the family applies for leave to remain for the third child separately, they must provide evidence that they have an additional £533 in available funds.

yes, based on the guidance you will need a letter from your sponsor(a-rated) if you haven't maintained required fund in your account for 3 months.

point 52 links with point 49 where there is an example of a family with 2 children. it's just an example, don't get confused.

on the link below you'll find forms for applying outside, just in case you need...
