New Skilled worker visa from outside of UK

Post by prsh27 » Fri Oct 04, 2024 10:02 am

Dear Members,

This board has been an excellent resource for gaining valuable insights on UK immigration. Thank you for all your support!

I have been on a Skilled Worker Visa for 1 year and 10 months. My current employer had applied for my visa while I was in India, and I travelled to the UK once it was approved. Now that I’m in the UK, I’ve received a job offer from another company that is willing to offer a better role and sponsor my Skilled Worker Visa.

My question is: I have plans to travel to India for 6 weeks during the process of transitioning to this new job and visa sponsorship.
1) Can I complete the visa formalities from India, or do I need to remain in the UK?
2) What factors do I need to consider to ensure that my current 1 year and 10 months counts toward the continuous 5 years required for my ILR?

Thank you in advance.

Hi
1)I prefer you to stay in the UK and wait until your visa is switched successfully..

2) and yes your time period will be calculated as well like you said it been 1year and 1 month you are on skilled worker visa so after switching you can apply ilr after 3 years and 11 months because your time period will be calculated as well..

I suggest you to wait inside UK till ur visa is switched successfully because.. Going back in India can cause some problems.. I know a person he did the same thing he went back to Pakistan and applied again he wanted to switch but he was refused in Interview..
