New tier-2 PBS due in Nov. 30% less jobs in UK.

Hi All,

I read this bad news in the HT 11 September Mumbai edition on the front page.
Here is the official press release:
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... rtagelists

I've just applied for the Tier-1, still awaiting an approval.
Wondering, how the job scenario would be after Nov. Not to forget the current economic slowdown.

Seems like less trouble

Hi all,

I scanned more on the UKBA website..and apparently this affects only sponsored workers..Henceforth from Nov 2008 the current work permit would be replaced by Tier 2.

This article is concerned with the upcoming Tier 2 visa, which is comparable to the current Work Permit. Under the Work Permit/Tier 2 scheme, applicants need a job offer before they can obtain a visa.

The changes discussed in the article do not apply to or affect Tier 1 migrants.

new rules

Hi

I think these rules are for tier 2 migrants or they apply to both tier1 and tier2 .

Thanks

Sorry for the confusion..
The Tier-1 rules are completely independent of these new Tier2 policies..
Apologies..
