DBS for new job

Dear all,


My unconditional offer letter from my employer is basically pending the DBS (previously the criminal record document). I am working in london and a bit concerned cause I heard recently that DBS applications can take month (sometimes 4 month) to get the DBS certificate from london due to delays from the metropolitan police in london...

Just wondering has any one in london had it done recently and usually how long does it take??
