Do not have a Biometric Residence Permit

Hello,
When I came to the UK with my Tier 4 visa in September 2014, I provided my biometrics for my application but I don't believe that I ever received a biometrics residence permit, and somehow throughout my entire study period I never realized that it was something I needed. Now I realize that apparently I've been in violation of this law for an entire year and I'm in absolute panic about how to fix this, as it looks like it will definitely harm my switch to a tier 2 visa application right now. What should I do?

Actually, scratch that - found out from UKCISA that this system was only unrolled in March 2015.
