NSC naturalisation application waiting times

Has anyone used the NCS at their local borough lately for a naturalisation application, and if so, how long was it until you got notification that your application for citizenship was successful?
In a few years time we'll look back on immigration control like we look back on American prohibition in the thirties - futile and counter-productive.
