OCI Application – Indian Passport blank Surname vs UK Passport Surname

Hi all,

I’m preparing my OCI application and have a question about name format:
• My Indian passport had my full name as ABC SINGH in the given name field, and the surname field was blank.
• My British passport has Given Name = ABC and Surname = SINGH.

I want to submit the OCI application with my UK passport name format.

Can anyone share their experience:
1. Did you apply with the UK passport format even though the Indian passport had no surname?
2. Did you need to submit any extra document explaining the difference, or was the application accepted as is?
3. Any tips on filling the “Previous Name” field in the OCI form?
