OCI Application While Parent on B2 Visa in the US

OCI Application While Parent on B2 Visa in the US

We are applying for an OCI card from the US for our child (US citizen, born in India). One parent is a US citizen, and the other is an Indian citizen currently staying in the US on a valid B2 visa.

Is it possible to complete the OCI application from the US in this situation?
Does the B2 visa suffice as valid legal status, or will it cause issues with the application?
