IT_Man,
Although you tried your best to convey what you think or believe is valuable information, your inner personality has prevented you from doing so. From your mail I can only say that either you belong to "extremists" who are not happy to see non-English on the streets; or you are jobless/not-satisfied with your current job and blame it on foreign professionals. You should have known that this forum is not for people like you if you have read carefully. Frankly, I don't believe in anything you said. On the other hand, if the report you said is true, I will not be surprised since the PCG is stuffed with members like you.

IT_MAN don't start rumours by posting something which has no substance.

You seem to be peeved by the fact that you can't compete in fair terms(read technical).

Secondly the pcgroup seems to be based on Hitleristic ideologies rather than being a pure Resourceful Technical group. They even have the Pledge of Honour or Code of Honour thing placed on their site.

It is high time somebody reported the real ideologies of the pcg guys to the governmant n the home office has a good look at your site first.
For others who want to confirm, it is based at www.pcgroup.org.uk

Hello everyone,

I think you guys just killed every hope I had of getting to the UK any time soon with your talk about the fake job postings. I am (1) Young, 21 to be exact (2) I want to work at everything (network support, web design, programming) (3) I want to travel. And you guys are saying that most of the jobs that I've seen and want are probably fake. Should I just give up on the idea? I've heard of people looking for work for well over a 2 years after graduating with degrees where I live. I just cant picture any other place being worse.

DaveH,

Whatever you do DON'T GIVE UP! I myself have had a few horrible years the worst of which is that I lost my last parent, my mother in January 2001, I was still only 30 at the time. She was always behind me in my wish to return to the UK even in these uncertain economic times. You always have to think forward and keep an optimistic attitude about things. If you don't one day maybe ten years down the road you'll turn around and say to yourself: "What the hell am I doing here?!" Now that would be depressing. I have made up my mind to take my MSc in London seeing how the job market is now. Not all job postings are bogus, keep applying to as many as you can. Play their game, if you don't get a reply to a job that you are suited for and you see it posted again, apply again, and again if necessary. The only jobs that I don't apply for are the ones that explicitly state that non UK-EU citizens need not apply.

Hope this helps,

WC

My advice to you is to stay away from Microsoft. At the moment the Microsoft Skill set appears to be reaching saturation and until the PC market picks up it will take you quite a while to get a job.The downside is that you may choose another skillset which has a very small base or niche and might end up getting frozen out because companies are not investing(as heavily as before).Goodluck

Hi there,

Oh well, this is that I can recommend to all of you IT people. Prepare a nice Application Letter and CV.

If you knew someone living in the UK, you can ask a favor to get list of employers or IT employers from British Telecom Yellow Pages, you will get their website, emails and addresses.

I am pissed off really with agencies. There are some agencies called me and mention client name, what I did is find them and apply directly to them. I just started doing this, I haven't receive any reply yet from them.

But for those who needs a work permit sponsor, apply to a big corporation like Microsoft or IBM, they might be willing to sponsor a WP.

In my experiences, I encounter one employer who are willing to sponsor a workpermit for you like Marlborough Stirling, some agencies like Oxygen Online.

Even if you qualify in the High Skilled pointing scheme from the immigration, still you will spend lots of money here trying to find a job here in the UK. I still dont like a bit the point scheme system because its too much i think. Ofcourse if you are a High Skilled like finished a masters degree or Phd would you accept a Programmer Position in the UK? with a salary of £25-£30k?

Most of the adverts I saw on a newspaper here in the UK, companies are posting something and at the end there is a note "NO AGENCIES PLEASE"

Well, I'll try to sort all of the List of Companies and Post it? Or maybe email me and do it privately not on this discussion board.
I dont wanna be deported by doing that hehehe

Goodluck Everyone
Cheers
Catwoman

Note: Herman, Email me I lost your email address.
