Dear Workpermit,

I am a not EU student, I have just finished the taught part of a MSc. course. At the moment I am working on my dissertation that I suppose to hand in by 31st of August. I know that students are allowed to work just 20 hours per week during studding term. My question is how many hours I am allow to work on my current situation regarding that I have finished the taught part so I am not attending lectures, etc. The 20 hours per week restriction is still applying to me??

Thank you in advance…

Provided your course was a full-time one, and
as long as you have a valid student visa in your passport, you can work up to 20 hours per week in term time, and full time in holiday time.

If you are still a student, but its not holidays, then you can work part-time. That's my understanding of the law.

Not sure about deferred course, try calling HomeOffice, they should be able to advise you.
