Michaela Junior Member Member # 3787 | Posted June 07, 2002 11:47 PM I am in the UK on a student visa and about to complete a masters degree in business. I've sent my CV to several agencies, and they all said I was well qualified but could not help me get a job since most companies look for candidates with a work permit already. Can anyone offer some advice as to how to find an employer willing to sponsor a work permit? Any alternatives to this? Thanks in advance, |

Deepak in UK Member Member # 3491 | Posted June 08, 2002 07:56 PM Whats your nationality? Residents of certain countries qualify for a work permit like a working holiday visa etc. This can help you get your foot in the door. |
herman Member Member # 12 | Posted June 09, 2002 09:38 PM The Home Office is undergoing a review of whether or not agencies should be allowed to apply for workpermits instead of just end employers. This would help a lot with the chicken and egg scenario that many face. Workpermits UK is inviting views on the matter until 14 June. Here's the contact information: Joanna Bertzeletos Fax: 0114 259 3776 |
