Remember, that only UK 'resident' senior level employees of your company are permitted to sign off UK work permit applications.

Hi Chris,

What if they were on an ILR in the UK?
Would they be able to apply for Work permits (assuming they are the dircetors of the newly formed company)?

regards.

Dan, please note when you apply for a work permit for an employee, this employee will only be entitled to work for you, on a PAYE basis. They cannot take the work permit and move to another company. If your company is new and you haven't applied for a work permit before, you will have to provide a lot of documentation. After all that, it is not certain that the work permits will be granted. It will cost you a lot of money in advertising only. Are you willing to take many people on board this way?

I should point out that the work permit scheme does not allow work permit holders to operate as self-employed contractors. If an employer wishes to put you onto a client site, they must provide Service Agreements for each and every project - this will show the Home Office that the employer is a 'service provider' not merely a supplier of personnel.
