Hi hope you can help.

My South African girlfiend has recently returned to SA after spending 3 years in the UK on a working holiday visa.

She wants to come back and work at the hotel where she spent the last 6 months working as a barmaid/waitress.

Her old boss would like her to come back, but what i want to know is, is it likely that she will be granted a work permit for what is I suppose unskilled work.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The chances of her getting a work permit for that type of employment is pretty low but you have nothing to lose.

If she wants to apply for a Fiance visa she should contact her local British Embassy/High Commission and they will be able to advise of all the requirements AND a likely timescale.

Low skilled work permits for hotels will be introduced next year. See <<here>>.
