summer_snow Junior Member Member # 6510 | Posted December 18, 2002 11:15 AM I have gone through almost all the UK job/employment websites and have sent my resume to all the said websites for specific vacancies on my line of work, but none has responded yet. I have used my sister's phone # and UK address as my contact, I sent these applications through my email address in Lycos-UK, but NONE replied. I have been applying for almost 5 months now. Any tips? kind suggestions? Please, please, please provide me a reliable UK jobsite that brings in replies from their job ads. Anyone out there who got a job in the UK throught the job sites? please please share how you did it, and give me crumbs of your luck |

If you include information details pertaining to your overseas job an employer knows you are not in the UK despite the use of UK addresses/ contact numbers. If your skills are not highly sought after/ in short supply in the UK then the job hunting will continue to be a challenge. Have you considered a short trip to the UK. You can also state in your resume cover note that you are willing to meet some/all costs for interviews etc to show your seriousness although this may be best where you are having a fianl interview rather than preliminary discussions. www.monster.co.uk http://fish4.co.uk/jobs/index.html

Moby Member Member # 4437 | Posted December 19, 2002 11:02 AM Hi Want_wp/imm, Do you have any experience dealing with Amtrak? Or if you know about their credibility, it will be appreciated if you could share it with us on the board. thanx |
Imagination92 Member Member # 5820 | Posted December 20, 2002 07:36 AM I dont have expereince but opinion that Amtrak looks not compatible , becasue if somehting looks so good, means ther eis something wrong, Amtrak claim like there is no problem whateer country u want to work, means there is somehting wrong. ALso want memebership first means u have to pay. I will not go for that. |
