How can you show you salary for HSMP if you are on a working holiday visa? Apparently if you are currently a student then you can show the income for the 1-year period immediately before the student visa started. Does the same rule apply for working holiday (as you cannot work professionally on this visa)?

I am only guessing but I think it's safe to say you can't. HSMP is to attract people with a few years of experience. They are trying to attract experienced professionals as opposed to people fresh out of school. The premise being their own Graduates don't have to compete with you.

Hi Natasha,

I applied for my HSMP after returning to the States from a year spent travelling. They accepted my salary from the years previous to this 'year-off' and I did get approved for the visa. I provided detailed information (airline ticket receipts, passport stamps) to show that I really was travelling and not just out of work. I'd give it a try as I think your situation is not too different than mine was when I applied. Good luck!
