Just a curious question, we have someone in our company that is applying for a WP. It wil be for a trainer/web analyst and the person has a degree, not relaed to computers or training and a bit of helpdesk experience but not in respective of the job they are applying for...what are the chances they will get the job even if the company is willing to sponsor the person?

There's a very big chance it will be approved since there is already a sponsor. The only constraint would be the fact that the kind of job might be difficult to justify the need to employ non-UK candidate.

BTW, I'm an IT/Web developer and new media designer (I want to study later in the UK), do you know someone who can sponsor me too??

Well that does not say much for the Home Office abiding by their criteria. As IT has been taken off the shortage list, there should be no chance unless it is a shortage position which is definitely is not and the person was not even qualified for the position when they applied. If is is approved then it is as easy as pie to get a WP if you have a sponsor.

The WP site clearly states either you need a related degree or a graduate level experience at the same position to be considered for a WP. Having a sponsor makes no difference, it's the nature of the job and the qualifications required for the job. And I said before you have to advertise and prove that no UK person can do the job. The fact that he has an unrelated degree and no related experience tells them that anyone with any degree can be trained to do the job.

Elisa, that what I thought, will let you know the outcome of the WP application...thanks for your input.
