Rent -- 1 bedroom might cost anywhere from 550-800 pounds .. 650 it shall be possible to get an ok place

Taxes -- over top of income tax and national insurance

Council tax - 80-100 pounds per month
TV Tax - 10 pounds per month
Cable - 20-40 pounds per month

If planning to have a car
insurance + roadtax etc might cost 550-700 pounds per annum

Public transport is quite expensive as compared to india but its good. One can rely on the same for day to day travel needs

Then water bills + electricity + phone + gas (depending upon whether the house you rent has the connection)

For any gut with 4-5 years experience this is the minimum that you would get in any Indian IT company. Now if you need them to be named - PCS, Satyam,
TCS, Wipro, HCL, MCL and so on ............I have not even said anything about IBMs, Accentures, CGEYs. There I think they pay this to the beginners...............
Go eastwards.........

New Year,

Happy New Year to you (you changed your nick in the New Year!). Thanks very much for taking SO much time and 'informing' us about the saving potential in India. OK, now I know the truth. You are a UK ILR holder who will be eligible for naturalisation in July 2004. And YOU are telling others to go EASTWARDS

The salary reflects what a below average guy gets after 5 years. Most guys with this experience end up getting between 80 - 100 k on average and 100 - 150 k abover average.

If you are confident that you can get Rs. 100K to 150K per month in Bangalore, I would like to see you as the first person going EASTWARDS (I mean B2B - Back to Bangalore). Please don't bluff man. Tell us the truth. I guess, you have absolutely no knowledge of life in the Bangalore b'coz you have been living in the UK for the past 4 years. I would agree with the above post if it was conrtibuted by a Bangalorean. Most companies are moving jobs to India only to save money. Then why on earth they should pay you Rs: 100 to 150K per month. This much huge salary is out of propotion with living costs in India as compared to other countries in the region. Can any REAL Bangaloreans comment on this please?

BTW, did you manage to get your child ILR? Did he/she arrive in the UK yet?

Bharath u spy

I think what New year is saying is true. He is in middle management and what salary he quotes is practicle and pay-able by most of software companies now a days. His salary hike is also reasonable..

And as for as life in Bangalore goes it depends on person to person.

If you gotta a car, a nice appartement and fat salary life will be cool for u, u won't complain.

I gotta no car no roof of my own under my head and not so fat salary and burdened with loana and dependent to take care of i'll complain..

But being in Bangalore for past 4-5 years and observing life in it's minute details i have feelings that most software gyus, in Bangalore are satisfied with life.

Many of my friends are not interested in going anywhere out of India. These are those kind of people who have got settled, married and have stable job.

The only people who still die to go to abroad are those software engineers who have just started their job and still single, or those who have been already abroad and are not ready compromise with Bangalore's life.

and as for as i'm concerned, i have another personal reason

ALL OF YOU ARE LYING !!! I AINT GOING ANYWHERE

I will stay in the UK as long as I can. IT Market in uk bad ?

No one that I know is unemployed and fact is the market is just getiing better.

Howe could so many more people are still flooding in under WP and HSMP (many I know personally) and everyone getting the job. In fact companies are struggling to find right people in software.

You will get job provided you are skilled. If you cam here few years back riding on the trend and actually with no skills (lying in the resume and interview) then it is about time that you get caught out and start return journey or work on supermarket cash tills. The market has become matured and not tough. One needs to keep the skill level hig and up with the trend.....

I think 'New Year' (makrand_b) has deleted all his posts and left this forum. He may come back with a new name (with more lies )? So, let's stop this discussion here. No more LIES please.

ajayxyz, i am not spying on anyone here. I have read couple of threads recently by makrand_b (new year). In one of his recent posts he asked this forum how to get
child benefit for his child who has born in India recently. If he is serious about
moving EASTWARDS why he should be concerned about child benefits in the UK? Moreover
he may be applying for naturalisation of his entire family in July 2004. Whilst he is
settling in the UK, he advises others to go EASTWARDS by quoting fake salary figure,
saving potential etc.

gn, take a look at your contributions on this thread. So, you are not catching THE
FLIGHT TO INDIA?

Wah, what a fantastic salary !!!

Would you mind telling me which company in India offered you this much salary.
I am planning to return to India as there are no job opportunities in the UK nowadays. If I would get this much salary in India (especially in B'lore) why should I be here?

BTW, I am 30 years old B.E in Computer Science with 7 years exp in IT and a UK ILR holder.

shame to the nick name ...............liar bharath
