I sent my HSMP extension application on 12/01/2004, no result yet.

Anyone there has received the extension result recently? and what is the waiting time?

Thanks

Hi,

from the trend of discussion and my several emails to the HSMP guys. There is really a backlog (I got a mail, apologising) and saying that my application would require some time to be reassigned.

Roughly, I would say it may take 4 - 6 weeks to process an application.

The issue of waiting time depends on how straight forward your application is and of course, some applications are dealt with urgently for other reasons. In decemcer, two of my children were refused school admission based on the fact that my HSMP visa will run out in april and therefore not up to six months which was mandatoty for them to be admitted. Three of them that came in october didnt have this problem. i called the hsmp people to explain my problems, they advised that i should apply for extention before april. i sent all my document and speaking with them on phone the second day, they offered to grant me an extention for a year and not three, basically because i was working as a security. i told the lady to hold on as i was in discussion with some companies. ON the 14 december i got another job and faxed her the offer letter, after 3 days we got our passports back, including mine, my wife and all my kids. the only problem is that i was advised that applying earlier will leave me short of about 3months, and i may have to apply for a second extention to hsmp in 2007 before finally applying for indefinite leave. a lawyer friend however said it depends on the discretion of the case worker. Kalayami, joseph, dip and others what do you think.

Ajani,

That is an interesting story - though it would have been nice if you had used paragraphs

Your case was handled 'OUTSIDE THE IMMIGRATION RULES' .

I suspect you might have to apply for further leave to remain in 2007 to meet up the shortfall in the 4 years...unless your circumstances change - and then YOU CAN BE HANDLED OUTSIDE THE RULES

ajani,

Sounds like you did well, especially since your first job wasn't HSMP-level. Don't worry--2007 is a long way off. In the worst case, you just file for an HSMP extension a month before your current LTR expires. They will probably extend it a few more months to the full 4 years, at which point you can apply for ILR.

Hopefully the HSMP renewal will still be free!

Joseph

Thanks for you all.

I have a job as a design engineer in a company. My problem is my wife is applying a job who needs the VISA under the extension of HSMP.

I will call HSMP after next week.

Hi Chess,

I was away for a few days. Just gotin to meet your posting.

The HSMP Team actually asked me for further details like I said in here sometime ago. However, I did not get the mail on time. But, I replied later on.

Thereafter, I asked about the collection of my documents (hope you remember the posting on this as well). It was then Ilaernt that my file was in a queue and would have to be re-assigned. Apparently, when I did not reply HSMP's earlier mail on time my case was put back in queue.

So, I am still waiting. Well, no problems. As you said, I will keep my fingers crossed as well.

Regards.
