Hi All,

There is nothing to worry about the UK jobs going to India or wherever.

I myself have been self-employed for the past 15 months (HSMP and now an ILR holder).
I have been involved in solutions designing/Architecting and consulting software solutions.

I have had no problems whatsoever till date.

So if that gives any encouragement - please take it.

Most of the jobs that will certainly go to India or elsewhere is just the regular programming jobs, application maintenance work, support call center and related support services - which makes sense in a way.

The jobs involving Solutions design and consulting, solutions architecting and customer facing jobs will always be kept in UK/USA.

Personally, I think there is nothing to worry.

regards.

User,

The people I know from India can do ANY job you can imagine. I think it is just a matter of time before the senior jobs go to India as well. The Indian brain is not smaller than the western one.

I think the aspect raised is not Indians vs. non-Indians, but rather trends in the global labor market - India vs. the West. I think it's OK to discuss regional segments at the macro level - no ethnic opinions are implied.
