Can being a distributor for FLP (Forever Living Products) count as self employment, if so can it be used to get HSMP Renewal?

I think as long as you do something on your own (or through your own company) and you pay taxes it is self employement. Not sure if this will count as hsmp experience. I heard someone here get an extention after working as security so it may work. Cheers

If its in your HSMP designated profession then you will get a renewal. What profession do you intend to pursue employment or self employment in?

Kaya,

You have narrowed the field any way Mr/Miss/Mrs/Dr Kaya CEng, MIChemE....

Your meticulous writting style and attention is typical of a CEng.

I wonder if there are any other CEng's on this forum

And your posts keep on appearing and dissapearing!!!

Papafaith,

O&G remains big in the UK with its roots in the North Sea and of course Aberdeen being the main port/ city in the Oil sector. Most of the fields are maturing so the big players Shell et al are divesting their stakes in them off. Some smaller players e.g Canadian Resources Ltd have come in to squeeze out the last drops/ further develop marginal fields. The UK government has also decided (another last minute thing) to revise the licensing to offset royalty taxes and other duties so this should keep the sector going for some time not to mention the +30USD/bbl prices and OPEC's position on dcreased quotas, anticipated long term loss of Iraqi output and the decline in output from non - OPEC except Russia.

IMHO you will be o.k in an IME role because instrumentation is massive here and the UKCS (UK Continental Shelf) fields have a backlog of maintanance and you have EU legislation coming in which will need them to re-dress this. Check out the UK Offshore Operators Association and the Department of Trade & Industry Energy Group sites for the lowdown on the oil industry.

You can of course use the FLP to supplement your income/ funds but can't really show this as a basis for HSMP renewal. Costwise Aberdeen is quite expensive due to the oil money in the town and the weather is pretty miserable. Type Aberdeen in google to see costs etc.

Can anyone tell I'm in O&G

Pinch Technology though now in assett management. Kent is the UK's biggest county but is a farming region so no O&G there. Major process industries there are pharmaceuticals including Pfizer maker of Viagra
