Hi all

I've applied for comparison statement with following degrees and got equal to Bachelor (Honors) from NARIC.

My Degrees (from islamic univ pakistan) are as under

Bachelor of Computer Sciences (Honors): 3 years
Master of Computer Sciences: 2 years

Total professional (IT) education: 5 years.
Total education: (12+5) 17 years.

i believe that with 17 years of education, NARIC should award master degree level. Would you please assist me what to do now. should i enquire NARIC or not ?

Another thing is, What is the criterion of HSMP team for giving graduate level and specialist experience? I mean what kind of ref letter should be there in both cases. Is it necessary to write statement that this post needs graduate level or it’s understandable from the role e.g. Software Project Leader. I've got ref letter from my employer exactly describing my role that is leading a software development team from last 2.5 years. Can I hope for 50 points or 35 points?

regards
Babar

1. NARIC have been evaluating credentials for a long time and have a good enough reason to have quantified your qualifications as they did. My understanding is that a 2 yrs Pakistan Bachelor's is considered equivalent to UK 'A'levels. In the UK a 3 yrs degree course after 2 yrs of 'A' levels would be awarded a bachelors degree. So your 3 years leading up to Masters i.e. final year of Bachelors and 2 years of Masters equate to a UK 3 yrs Bachelor's degree.

2. As per Joseph01's earlier reply the relevant reference letter must clearly state your job title, length of post/ how long you have been in the job and detail your roles and responsibilities - merely saying so and so is a senior this and that doesn't wash. It may help if you read the HSMP guidance notes for further clarification of the level of evidence that must be submitted then return to the board with more specific Q's not covered there.

thanks Kayalami
I can understand that these things should be included on ref letter. I just need to ask that whether its necessary to write that it’s a graduate level job or it can be understood by title, role n responsibilities. Thanks in advance for assistance

It should state its a graduate level job/ requires the employee to hold a degree in 'X'.

Good Luck
