Hello everyone,

A couple of days ago I contacted the UK Embassy in Turkey regarding HSMP and they answered me that they do not process HSMP "at this time". And I am quite sceptical that they will be offering any help in near future.

So here is the question. What are my options now? Is ther any othe alternative than hiring a lawyer in UK?

Thanks in advance for he answers.

HSMP application is two stage:

1. Application to be accepted/ approved for the HSMP scheme. This is done by the HSMP Team in Doncaster, UK.

2. Application for HSMP Entry Clearance (visa) after HSMP approval. This is done at a British Diplomatic Post (BDP) overseas i.e. an Embassy, High Commission or Consulate.

It would appear that the British Visa Sections in Istanbul and Ankara are offering restricted services due to the damage caused during the bombing incidents which unfortunatley for you does not include HSMP visa applications. You are able to apply for your HSMP visa at a BDP in a neighbouring country. Alternatively you may depending on the remaining validity of your HSMP approval letter (std validity = 3 mths from date of issue) decide to wait for HSMP visa services to be offered. The risk with this is that there is no guarantee when it may happen.

Is it necessary for the overseas applicant to send the Original passport along with other original certificates. I dont remember reading that in the documentation about the passport part.

No you do not need to send your original passport - indeed most countries if not all specifically prohibit sending passports out of the country. You may send a notarised copy of your ppt (bio data and signature page are enough) which is especially crucial where applying in the under 28 category where proof of age is vital.

Good Luck.

Hi all,

Thanks for the responses.

Kayalami, according to your sugeestion I should send my document copies to Donacaster, and if I get a positive result I should apply to visa in a neigbouring country. The question is: from where should I get the application forms?

Regards,
Hcho
