HSMP Q&A says: "There is no set amount of money you need to bring; it will depend on your personal circumstances. … The Entry Clearance Officer will assess this for applications made abroad."
1. Does it mean that one is not required to show/proof his saving when applying for HSMP but will be required to do so when applying for EC?
2. What is the minimal amount of money (approximately) one should show in order to be eligibal?

1. Have you read the HSMP notes - evidence of funds demonstrating that you are able to maintain and acocmodate yourself and any dependents without recourse to public funds is required at initial HSMP application i.e. to HSMP Team in Doncater, UK as well as at 2nd/ EC application stage.

2. Depends where you intend to settle in the U.K. and lifestyle you intend to lead, what level of support you will have in the UK if any and of any job lined up. As a ballpark ECO wants to see you have enough money to survive for 3 months. I would suggest aiming at having GBP 2,000/month for principal applicant and GBP 1,000/month per dependent. Note rentals in a decent part of London for a two bedroomed house/apartment are in the region of GBP 900+/month.

Again depends on where you will be in the UK. You will have to do some legwork on the board for this - check historic posts say up to Oct/Nov 2003 when HSMP traffic shot up) by people awarded HSMP as I remember them giving a breakdown. Suitable posters include:

Babar Malik,

I agree with Kayalami - you should do some legwork as that subject was analysed and almost exhausted!!

Therefore the answers are on this forum, unfortunately we dont have a serach facility

I believe, from sources in the UK, that a monthly bill for food should add up to 600 GBP, (note: family of four). Please note, I've based this figure largely on what I'm told and not indicating this as fact - merely suggesting!!

For public transport, I've budgeted GBP 200 (again family of four) per month. I;ve also allocated every alternate month an amount of GBP 200 for car hire - just to drive around and see the English country - that's if I get approved.

Enjoy the w/end - at least whats left of it!
