However, unless your skills are in a "shortage" area, like IT or medicine, then your chances of getting a work permit are significantly reduced. Other nations with reasonably open work permit laws for skilled personnell include the UK, the Netherlands, and Belgium. On the other end of the spectrum, the EU nations that have the most restrictive work permit laws are France, Spain, and Luxembourg.
