| Special-K Junior Member Member # 1061 | Posted December 14, 2001 05:35 AM Some friends and I have recently decided to embark on a bohemian adventure in grape picking in France. Problem is, We have no idea where to start and if we will need work permits. Any help at all will be appreciated. |

This would be very difficult as it's in France, who has strict workpermit laws; furthermore, you are asking to get paid for low-skilled work, which work permits are not given out for. I would just suggest doing it as a tourist thing, and not getting paid, since I doubt you will be able to secure a work permit for this. Unless workpermit.com staff can think of a way to get a permit, I don't see how it can be done. |

Do you think this shortage might have any bearing on the chances of obtaining a permit for this kind of work? |
| herman Member Member # 12 | Posted December 17, 2001 05:36 AM It might, but even with worldwide shortage skills such as IT, I heard it is still rather difficult to get a French work permit. Maybe workpermit.com staff can advise better. |

If anyone has any info about this, it would be greatly appreciated. |

However, if you were able to find an employer who has advertised the vacancy for grape pickers with the ANPE for several weeks and has been unable to fill the positions, then it might be a possibility.
