hi, I would like to know if I studied at a University in South Africa and receive a degree (Bsc Information Technology) would this be recognised in the UK. ALso what is a 2.1 Degree?

I don't know, but a 2.1 degree is a 4 year (3 year in England) honors degree.

There are four grades that I am aware of.

1st class - apparently some Universities also award double firsts

2nd class - upper (2.1) and lower division (2.2)

3rd class

pass

In my field (electronics) most companies require at least a 2.2. As for studying at post graduate level generally a 2.2 is required for a masters and a 2.1 for doctorate.

As far as I remember, a RSA degree is equivalent to a UK degree (although a diploma is not)
