kt786 Junior Member Member # 1251 | Posted December 27, 2001 06:19 PM hi, I would like to know if I studied at a University in South Africa and receive a degree (Bsc Information Technology) would this be recognised in the UK. ALso what is a 2.1 Degree? |
kris Junior Member Member # 1193 | Posted December 27, 2001 07:51 PM I don't know, but a 2.1 degree is a 4 year (3 year in England) honors degree. There are four grades that I am aware of. 1st class - apparently some Universities also award double firsts 2nd class - upper (2.1) and lower division (2.2) 3rd class pass In my field (electronics) most companies require at least a 2.2. As for studying at post graduate level generally a 2.2 is required for a masters and a 2.1 for doctorate. Hope this helps. |

As far as I remember, a RSA degree is equivalent to a UK degree (although a diploma is not) -------------------- Regards, Vicky Victoria Sharkey |
